Interview #1
Elizabeth Davis
Elizabeth Davis, my mentor, was kind enough to let me interview her. She has worked as a physician assistant since 2004, with a brief break in 2022, when she left to travel with her family. She has four kids, and as a working mom and medical professional, has deep emotional investment in the issue of maternity leave. In fact, when seeing her own panel of patients from 2004-2009, she was the one to fill out maternity leave paperwork.

Interview #2
Emily Ellison
My second interview was with my family friend, Emily Ellison. She is a self-employed massage therapist and contracted dance teacher. Emily is a working mom with two little kids and a third on the way (Edit: she had her third baby in late April!!). Her maternity leave looks different from most because of the pandemic and her employment status. She had great insights about both the emotional and physical recovery process after giving birth.
